1) TOXIC MERCURY POISONING
Fluorescent and CFL bulbs contain a small amount of mercury. Very small doses of
mercury can cause severe respiratory tract damage, brain damage, kidney damage,
central nervous system damage, and many other serious medical conditions. In the
US, the EPA has ordered waste handlers to treat fluorescent lamps as hazardous waste.
This is a risk that does not pertain to LED lighting—LEDs do not contain mercury.

2) UV RADIATION
CFL bulbs emit high levels of harmful ultraviolet radiation. They randomly tested the bulbs and found the rays were so strong that they could burn your skin on the cellular level. That means exposure to the bulbs could lead to premature aging and cancer. “It can also cause skin cancer in the deadliest form, and that’s melanoma.”

3) INCREASES RISK OF CANCER, INSOMNIA, MIGRAINES, FATIGUE, & EYESTRAIN
CFLs emit radio frequency radiation that can cause fatigue, dizziness, ringing in the ears, eyestrain, even migraines. Other negative health effects such as insomnia and sleep disturbances,
an increased risk of cancer, and a suppressed immune system
can be linked to CFLs. Manufacturers and regulators have taken steps to eliminate
this problem with LED lighting.
Individuals exposed to more natural light experience no health effects. LED is the only lighting source that closely resembles sunlight.
